So today I fell in love with a beautiful programme on Sky; Modern Family. You’ll notice I’ve made a couple of promos for it, they took a lot longer to make then usual…might have been because I insisted watching most episodes!
It’s such a clever show, everything fits perfectly, from the brilliantly written script to the documentary style camera, last seen on ‘The Office’. The camera even adds to the comedy, Phil’s embarrassed looks straight into the lens really adds to the comic effect, and it’s so heartwarming.
The only thing that annoys me is the lack of marketing coverage in the UK. I totally understand Sky’s thoughts, they don’t want any more indication that they buy a lot of content off the US, but they’re really missing out on a trick not promoting the show; it’s taken a background role on Sky 1 comedy content behind the ‘brand new british comedy’, which does suggest they’ve got their priorities confused, promoting british instead of promoting comedy.
Rant over, if you haven’t set aside time to dabble in an episode, you’re missing out.
